Tony Price, one of Worsley Judo Clubs Instructors, has just returned from Belgium after he was selected to represented the BJC National Team at the Antwerp Ippon Tournament on the 29th-30th of May 2010 . Tony fought in the over 100kg class, and even though he was the lightest in his group at 107kg he fought brilliantly and secued the 3rd place bronze medal beating the enoumous 146kg "Padra" of Beligum on the way for Ippon with his signiture sit through arm lock. Tony was coached at the event by Alan Carlisle 5th Dan who is also Worsley JC senior coach, and a Senior BJC Natioanl team coach. The BJC team collected 1 Gold, 1, silver, and 4 bronze.

Alan said, "This is the first time tony has fought internationally for many years, and is now old enough to fight in verteran age category. It has taken lots of hard work to come out of retirement & win a quality bronze medal with only 6 months preperation especially when competeing against fighters from, beligium, Spain etc who are at their peek and at lease 18 years younger than Tony."
Tony now has his sights set on more events and training down throgh the weight groups, so watch out, Tonys Back!
