matthew clempner
With more than 45 years experience in Judo, Matthew is a former Olympian representing Great Britain at the Moscow Olympic Games for Wrestling.  He is also ex-British International for Judo, Sombo and Freestyle Wrestling.  He was 1979 European Freestyle Champion and 1989 World Bronze medallist for Sombo in the USA.  Matthew is actively coaching within the British Judo Association with students ranging from beginners at club level right through to world class and international players.  He is a lead coach to the British Police Judo Team and Matthew is also President of the Federation of Russian Martial Arts UK and also a member of the Churchill Foundation.

ALAN CARLISLE

Alan first practiced Judo in 1964 and is now Senior Coach to the British Judo Council National Women’s Judo Team.  Alan has coached and trained at many National and International championships, courses and camps for Judo, including France, Belgium, Holland, Spain, and at the Olympic training camp “Stoiki” in Russia.  He has considerable experience in Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Self Defence and Sombo Wrestling.  Alan is also a Russian Martial Arts Instructor.  For many years Alan ran a very successful Judo Club in Swinton, with many of his students achieving National and International honours.  He has taught many students to black belt level, some of whom now run clubs of their own in the Swinton and Walkden areas.

JOHN RYAN
Black Belt 1st Dan. FPJ1

John Ryan started judo in 1974 with Irlam & Cadishead judo club. Was winner of several regional championships and went on to be head coach of Moorfield Judo club which produced 3 National champions and several county champions. John also trained and competed in Kstova Russia at Sombo wrestling at Gambo 92 where he was awarded the rank of, Candidate for Master of Sport, (Nationally ranked player). John is now a coach at Worsley Judo Club.
